Ashwaganda Powder -- Ashwaganda Cacao Balls Recipe

The best part about superfoods like ashwaganda powder is that there are SO many ways to cook with them and incorporate them into your everyday meals and snacks. That's why we asked Elia of @feedyoursister to create a delicious recipe using the ancient superfood. These ashwaganda cacao balls are great for a snack or even dessert!

If you aren't familiar with ashwaganda, it was traditionally used to restore the immune system following sickness, but has gained popularity for relaxing stress and nerves, stabilizing mood, and even as a sleeping aid. While its effects are not limited to gender or age, ashwagandha is believed to be one of the best herbs for rejuvenating the male libido. (Yep, you read that right!).

Ashwaganda is a little bit sweet with bitter notes, making it great for mixing into teas, milks or even smoothies.

ASHWAGANDA CACAO BALLS RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tbsp nut milk
  • 1/2 cup nut milk pulp (any mix of nuts is fine)
  • 4-5 dates, pitted & softened (can be softened in hot water)
  • 2 tbsp coconut butter, melted & then cooled
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 scoops of Vanilla Protein (if using another protein powder estimate & adjust milk as needed)
  • 2 tbsp Ashwaganda Root Powder
  • 2 tbsp Cacao Nibs
  • 1 tbsp Cacao Powder

DIRECTIONS

Blend all ingredients in your food processor until well combines and able to stick when pressed together with hands. Form 10-12 balls. If you are feeling fancy roll the balls in Cacao Powder, hemp seeds or puffed quinoa for some added crunch! They will keep up to a week in the fridge and longer in the freezer! If frozen, thaw for 3-5 minutes before eating! ENJOY!
